Cardiologie Centra Nederland (CCN) has been active in nineteen European countries since July 2022, offering digital services for people with cardiovascular diseases. Patients can perform their own health measurements and have them evaluated by a medical team via an app. Within 24 hours, the requester receives a diagnosis with advice. The first 3,000 international assessments have already been completed, and this number is expected to increase significantly in the coming period. As a supplier of eHealth applications, Heart for Health ICT is closely involved in this European expansion.
CCN is proud of this international breakthrough: “In the Netherlands, we have gained significant experience with a 24-hour response to a large volume of requests. From now on, we can offer a diagnosis to people internationally who are concerned, with our team in Dokkum. Our HeartWacht program, developed by Heart for Health ICT, has been in place since 2016, and in the past few years alone, we have conducted nearly 500,000 assessments in the Netherlands. We are now ready to scale this internationally to even larger numbers.”
Collaboration with AliveCor
The international expansion of CCN’s eHealth services has been made possible through close collaboration with AliveCor, the producer of mobile ECG devices. People who have purchased a portable ECG monitor from AliveCor can have their heart recordings evaluated by a medical team for a fee. This CCN team in Dokkum then provides a diagnosis based on the ECG recording, determines the level of urgency, and advises on whether to contact their own doctor.
Albert Arp, CEO of Heart for Health Group, of which CCN is a part, said: “For many people in Europe, this is a relevant innovation. Together with AliveCor, we can offer fast and adequate advice. This provides great reassurance for many heart patients. It is incredibly inspiring and an honor for our team in Dokkum to have been selected as the eHealth center for AliveCor. Additionally, this marks another important milestone in our international strategy, where, in addition to the rapid growth of cardiology clinics in various countries, digital healthcare is also a prominent focus.”
